This Valentine’s Day, how about a visit to the city of love? Travelers from the United States who have been vaccinated can now enter France more easily as of Saturday.
As per the US Embassy and Consulates in France, France modified its entrance criteria for travelers this weekend, enabling fully vaccinated travelers and children under the age of 12 to visit without a negative coronavirus test.
Vaccinated visitors from the United States have to demonstrate a negative test obtained no more than 48 hours before departure till Saturday.
As per the US Embassy, travelers will still required to produce proof of immunization as well as a sworn statement that they do not have COVID-19 symptoms and have not just been in touch with somebody who has COVID-19.
Rules for Unvaccinated Travelers
To be deemed fully immunised by France, travellers 18 and older will require a booster dose of a coronavirus vaccine no later than 9 months after their original one- or two-dose vaccination series.
Visitors from the United States who are not fully vaccinated will need a “credible reason” and a negative coronavirus test to visit France.
Travelling to France
France has been categorised as a category 4 country by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention due of its “extremely high” COVID-19 level, and US travellers are advised to avoid the nation.
“Make sure you are vaccinated and up to date with your COVID-19 immunizations before travelling to France,” the CDC advises on its website. “Even if your COVID-19 immunizations are up to date, you may still be at risk of contracting and distributing COVID-19.”
